↩️ Returns, Exchanges & Cancellations

At Sturdy Sports, we want you to shop with confidence. This policy explains your options if you need to return, exchange, amend or cancel an order — and the conditions that apply to each, so the process stays clear and fair for everyone. Our preferred resolution is always full-value Store Credit (valid 12 months), so you don't lose a cent. Refunds to your original payment method are also available where requested, subject to the conditions below. Exclusions apply (see below).

Why our policy works this way: Sturdy Sports is a proudly Australian, family-owned and run business. We genuinely want you to shop with confidence — so if you've ordered the wrong size or it doesn't fit, we're happy to offer the flexibility to return it. At the same time, shipping cricket gear isn't cheap, and freight and fuel costs continue to rise. To keep our product prices sharp for everyone, the cost of returning an item to us is covered by the customer, and shipping costs aren't included in any refund or store credit. We've made full-value store credit the simple, no-loss option on the value of your items — so you're never out of pocket on the gear itself, and you're free to put it toward whatever you need next.

Please check your item thoroughly at the time of purchase. Returns cannot be accepted for defects noticed after you have left the store.

📦 Damaged, Defective, Incorrect or Missing Items

If your order arrives damaged, defective, incorrect or missing, contact us within 48 hours of receiving it at hello@sturdysports.com.au and our resolution team will help. We always check goods before dispatch, but mistakes can rarely happen. Issues reported after 48 hours cannot be accepted.

🔄 Returns (Change of Mind)

We accept change-of-mind returns on online and in-store purchases within 30 days of purchase, provided the item meets the conditions below. Your resolution options are set out in Resolutions at the end of this policy.

Conditions:

  • Item must be in original, unused condition — unworn, unused, with all original tags, labels and packaging intact.
  • Any free items received must also be returned, in new, saleable condition.
  • A valid proof of purchase must be included. Please keep a copy for your records.
  • Returned within 30 days of purchase — returns received after 30 days cannot be accepted.
  • The item is not an exclusion (see below).
  • Bring it to our store, or post to: Sturdy Sports, Shop 3, 535 Geelong Road, Brooklyn VIC 3012.
  • Your return package must clearly show your full name, invoice number and mobile number.
  • We strongly advise registered post with signature on delivery. We cannot issue store credit for items not received or lost in transit, and are not liable for lost return parcels.
  • Returns are accepted only once the item is received, inspected and approved, with all inserts and proof of purchase. Returns that do not meet the conditions may be declined.

🔁 Exchanges

Want a different size or item? Return the original under the same conditions as a change-of-mind return. Once we receive it, we issue full-value Store Credit, which you use to purchase your replacement. For exchanges, the customer covers both the return postage and the outbound postage on the new order, and our standard Shipping Policy applies to the replacement based on its order value.

✏️ Order Amendments

Our dispatch system is fully automated for fast processing. We'll try to accommodate requests (size, address or other changes), but cannot guarantee any change once an order is placed — even if acknowledged by our team — as processing errors can occur. Sturdy Sports is not liable for any loss, delay or inconvenience arising from amendment requests.

❌ Cancellations

If you cancel an order — including one placed by mistake — your resolution depends on whether it has been dispatched:

  • Not yet dispatched: see the cancellation options in Resolutions below.
  • Already dispatched: this is treated as a Return, and the return conditions and resolutions apply.

We cannot guarantee a cancellation if our dispatch team has already dispatched the order despite the request.

🚫 Exclusions — Not Eligible for Change-of-Mind Return or Exchange

  • Bats with Free Knocking, Match Ready Service or Engraving — once prepared, the bat is no longer new, so the return policy does not apply.
  • Cricket bats with any marks (mallet or ball) or any oil applied.
  • Nets, bowling machines and other bulky or heavy goods.
  • Compression wear, socks, abdominal guards and briefs — health and hygiene.
  • Sale and clearance items.
  • Customised orders — not eligible for return or refund.

💳 Resolutions — Your Options

1. Full-value Store Credit (preferred) — issued for the full value of your items, valid 12 months. No deductions. The simplest, no-loss option.

2. Refund — order NOT yet dispatched (cancellation): Refund to your original payment method, minus a 10% processing fee (15% if paid via Afterpay or Zip, as we are still charged their merchant fee). No postage is deducted, as nothing has shipped.

3. Refund — order already dispatched (return): Refund to your original payment method, minus:

  • a 10% processing fee (15% Afterpay/Zip); and
  • our actual shipping cost. The freight you paid is non-refundable, and where we subsidised the balance — or shipped your order free over $199 — the difference we covered is also deducted.

The exact deduction is confirmed to you before any refund is processed, so there are no surprises.

📋 Additional Conditions

  • Postage costs are never refunded — in any form, including store credit, under any circumstances.
  • If a delivery is attempted but not collected from the carrier within their holding period and is returned to us, store credit is issued after deduction of the initial and return postage charged by Australia Post.
  • International returns: where an incorrect item was sent by us, Sturdy Sports makes the final decision on processing, depending on destination country and postage cost involved.
  • Sturdy Sports management reserves the right to exercise discretion in any dispute.

⚖️ Governing Law

Any dispute under this policy is governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria, Australia.
